In Han Feng's view, cooking is of great significance to her. It is creativity: "cooking, designing fashion, or even anything, requires creativity."

In the eyes of friend Susan Salrandon, Han Feng has a unique grace in cooking.

(Han Feng designs a family banquet just as she designs fashion. She hates it everywhere.

Chinese elements

Instead, it is to pursue the charm of China, "you have to feel it, rather than just open your eyes and see it directly."

)

Seeing Han Feng is in the apartment of the old Jin Jiang Hotel in her Shanghai residence.

She was from the day before.

New York

The return of Shanghai has not yet been completed, but Lily has been blooming in every area of the family.

"When I was away from Shanghai, I also asked my assistant to put flowers in my house. I think flowers can bring a lot of positive energy."

Han Feng told reporters.

Han Feng is an internationally famous fashion designer. He held the fashion show in New York in 1994, and was hailed as "the first Chinese designer to break into the fashion world of New York".

At the same time, she is also a gourmet, often appearing in American food magazines, and also writes columns for New York Times and New York visitors.

She cooked dishes: a fish and a pea soup were included in the The New American Cooking.

However, the most fascinating thing is her family banquet, opera actress Jessye (Jesse Norman Norman), actor Susan Salrandon (Susan Sarandon), designer Norma Kamali (Norma Kamali) and other celebrities are her guests.

"It's like a wonderful club," David Ziff, a gourmet, has described after Han Feng's family dinner. "No matter which industry, fashion designers, photographers, musicians, even gourmet, media people and so on, they sat together at Han Feng's banquet," David Ziff said.

I heard that our theme is Chinese New Year.

Han Feng

A wonderful idea came up in my mind: "you can find a suckling pig."

Her idea comes from Confucius. "The Analects of Yang" records the story of a man named Yang to send a steamed dolphin to Confucius. The steamed dolphin is a steamed suckling pig.

Han Feng always wanted to try to steamed suckling pig. She described the way: she used a knife to draw the * * * * e on the pig's back, stuffed some eight treasures and sticky rice into the belly of the pig, steamed it in the pan, then put it on the table. The skin drawn on the back of the hot pig would expand and blossom like flowers.

Speaking of moving, she smiled and told the reporter, "guests can do it by themselves, with knife and fork. Can you imagine? This is very interesting."

She also designed the table.

The dragon, cut by a red paper, circled on the table, surrounded by plates, dishes and candlesticks.

"In Chinatown, you can buy this kind of paper cut and fold it down. There are bamboo sticks on both sides, which are dragons or other animals.

But I don't know where to buy it in Shanghai. "

Two weeks later, after working, Han Feng will look around for the material she needs, and continue to plan her new year's family feast.

From time to time, the reporter received the WeChat from her, often excited by her glimpse, "how do you like the roses?"

"I suddenly thought of kumquat, used to embellish, the color is very beautiful!"

On the day of the scheduled shooting, the reporter came to Han Feng's house again, and she had already finished the dinner table.

Han Feng has a long table at home in New York and Shanghai to serve as a banquet.

This piece of black wood in Shanghai occupies the area on the right side of the living room, just outside the kitchen.

The dining table, the tableware and the wine cup have been placed on the table by six people. In the middle of the table are four crystal vases with different styles and colors, with pink peony.

At each end of the table stood a tree shaped candlestick. The center was stacked with white porcelain cans with different sizes and candles.

Han Feng's restaurant is not like the ordinary people using the ceiling lamp to illuminate, but uses the dim yellow wall lamp, the floor lamp and the dining table these big and small candles to make the light source, elegant and romantic.

The dinner plate is a mix and match wind. It has a "spin spin", a porcelain plate with a sense of design, and a Western bone plate that she travels around the world. She buys 20 dishes at a time.

The two huge cupboards in her kitchen in Shanghai were filled with all kinds of dishes she searched for.

The red ribbons are tied with red toothed napkins, lacquered red flower shaped wooden saucers, and strong red rose petals scattered on the table, together with the pink peony of the peony, and the clusters of different shades of red outline the theme of the new spring family banquet.

In fact, the fashion she designs is the same. She hates the deliberately added buttons, classical embroidery and Chinese characters to mark the Chinese elements. She pursues the charm of China. "You have to feel it, rather than just open your eyes and see it directly."
