In addition to traditional labor-intensive industries such as agricultural and sideline products processing and textile, in recent years, small and medium-sized enterprises in Xinjiang have gradually extended to strategic emerging industries such as business consulting, information spanmission, software and information technology services.

In 2018, the autonomous region implemented the innovative service voucher project for SMEs in the field of specialization, refinement, specialization and novelty, and guided the public service organizations of small and medium-sized enterprises to carry out low fee, customized and public welfare services for the "special new and special new SMEs" in the region, and increased support for "specialties and new small and medium-sized enterprises". At present, the autonomous region has 398 specialties and new small and medium-sized enterprises.
